Jones, Wehrle Earn Patriot League Weekly Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - For the second consecutive week, Georgia Jones and Maryana Wehrle claimed Patriot League weekly awards announced on Tuesday. Jones was named the runner of the week and Wehrle was tabbed as the rookie of the week.

Both runners made a significant contribution in helping the Black Knights to a seventh-place finish in the 38-team field for the program's best finish at the annual Paul Short Run in 24 years.

Jones, who placed ninth out of 342 runners, set a program record in a 6K meet with a time of 20:14.6. Wehrle had the third fastest time (21:38.4) on the team in her first collegiate 6K.

The Black Knights will host Navy in the annual Star Meet on October 15 at 3:45 p.m. at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls.
