Army Posts Strong Outing Against Northeastern

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's and women's track and field teams put up a strong effort Saturday afternoon in their opening meet of the year against Northeastern University.

The women's team collected victories 11 of 13 events, paving the way with multiple top finishers in each event.

Jazmine Alderman posted an impressive outing in her first collegiate meet. The freshman was a double winner for the women's team on the track, notching a first-place finish in the 200- and 400-meter dash. Alderman was joined by teammate Emily Mikoud, who continued her successes from her sophomore season, grabbing a top finish in both the shot put and the weight throw.

The men's team commanded all 13 events, holding a first-place finish in each. Senior Geoff Kirk proved his dominance in the shot put, capturing a Gillis Field House facility record, marked at 18.88m beating his previous throw of 18.36m set in 2019.
