Black Knights Fall to Navy, 63-49

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's basketball team fell to service academy foe Navy, 63-49, Saturday afternoon at Christl Arena.

Sarah Bohn scored a team-high 13 points on 4-6 shooting and was 2-3 from beyond-the-arc.

"She's got a great feel for the game," head coach Dave Magarity said. "She's selfless to a fault."

Alisa Fallon was the other member from Army to score in double digits, finishing the contest with 11 points on 4-10 shooting. Fallon also collected a team high eight rebounds.

Navy was led by Jennifer Coleman, who finished with 21 points, and Sophie Gatzounas, who registered 16 points.

Army held a 14-12 lead after the first 10 minutes of play, with Kate Murray pouring in six points. The Midshipmen opened the second quarter to pull ahead 24-14 by the 5:26 mark of the frame. The Cadets were limited to an 11.1 shooting percentage in the second, while Navy shot at 41.7 percent clip.

Coleman and Gatzounas each contributed seven points in the third for Navy, as the Mids outscored the Black Knights 21-11 in the quarter.

The Black Knights managed to build some momentum in the fourth, outscoring Navy, 20-16. Bohn had eight points in the final stanza, while Fallon and Sabria Hunter each added six. Both Fallon and Bohn were 2-2 from 3-point range in the fourth.

"We didn't quit. We kept pounding. We started throwing ball inside more and all of a sudden kids were making some shots," Magarity said. "The way we ended this game, hopefully we can pick up where we left off."

ARMY NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS
- Bohn passed her former teammate Jess Lewis (2016-19) for ninth place on the program's all-time 3-point field goals made list. Bohn now has 96 made treys in her career. She is 11 shy of tying Alex Maguire (2006-09) for eighth all-time.
- This was Bohn's second consecutive double-digit scoring effort of the season and her third overall.
- Fallon notched her ninth double-digit scoring effort of the season and the 30th of her career.
- Army was 7-7 from the charity stripe.
- Navy now owns a narrow 39-37 lead in the all-time series.
