Men's Soccer Adds 11 to Class of 2024

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point head men's soccer coach Russell Payne strengthened his roster for the upcoming 2020 season by welcoming 11 new members to the squad on Monday afternoon.
The 11-member incoming class was at one point ranked No. 18 in the nation according to TopDrawerSoccer.com and features a plethora of talent. The group is comprised of individuals from Connecticut, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia.

Nick Atkinson | Defender | 5-11 | Raleigh, N.C.
Atkinson, a four-star recruit who ranked inside the top-150 nationally according to TopDrawerSoccer.com, made the trek to West Point from Raleigh, N.C., where he attended Leesville Road High School. At Leesville Road, he was a key cog on the back line for the boys soccer team. He was a member of the Leo's Club as well as the Special Needs Awareness Club (SNAC). At the club level, he played for North Carolina FC, where he served as a team captain.
Drew Clement | Midfielder | 5-11 | Lewis Center, Ohio
Clement arrives on the banks of the Hudson after wrapping up a successful high school career at Olentangy in Ohio. As a member of the boys soccer team, Clement received first team all-region and all-conference honors in 2018 and 2019 en route to being named the team MVP. Following his senior season, he was named the Olentangy High School Male Athlete of the Year. He was a recipient of the Presidential Award and a member of the Principal's Advisory Council (PAC) and Ski Club. Clement played his club soccer for Ohio Premier.
Jack Eaton | Defender | 6-2 | Valparaiso, Ind.
Eaton arrives at West Point following a one-year stint with his hometown school, Valparaiso, before the program was discontinued following the 2019 campaign. With the Crusaders, Eaton emerged as a starter from the second he stepped foot on campus. The 6-2 defender made 11 starts in 17 matches while compiling one assist. Eaton committed to Valparaiso after a standout soccer career at Chesterton High School where he was a two-time team captain. He was named the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year and the Gatorade Indiana Boys Soccer Player of the Year following his senior campaign. After his final season, he also garnered first team all-state and all-district honors. The Duneland Athletic Conference MVP led the Trojans to a 21-0-2 mark and the 3A state championship as a senior. He was a key cog for a Chesterton defensive unit that yielded just 14 goals in 23 games while also contributing on the offensive end with seven goals and an assist during the 2018 season. Eaton experienced equal success on the club level, helping Indiana Elite FC claim the Indiana State Cup championship twice. Off the pitch, Eaton additionally played three years on the basketball team at Chesterton and served as a team captain as a senior.
Joey Hickson | Forward | 6-2 | Orchard Lake, Mich.
Hickson trekked to West Point from Orchard Lake, Mich., where he attended Saint Mary's Prep and served as a captain on the soccer team. Hickson experienced a great deal of success playing at the club level as he was a key member of the Michigan Wolves. The 6-2 forward was the starting center forward for his Michigan Crew Wolves U-19 team, a nationally recognized program. Throughout his club career with the Wolves, Hickson compiled 38 goals and was at one point the second-highest goal scorer in the nation.
Daniel Hoffmann | Midfielder | 5-10 | Yorktown, Va.
Hoffmann made the trip to West Point from Yorktown, Va., where he attended Grafton High School. At Grafton, he was a two-time first team all-district and second team all-state selection following his sophomore and junior seasons. As a freshman, he was tabbed second team all-district. He was a member of the National Honor Society, English Honor Society and the History Honor Society. Hoffmann additionally served as the Vice President of the German Honor Society and was the Founder/Co-President of the Tech Club. He also was a part of the Special Olympics Club. He received the West Point Leadership Award from the West Point Society of Williamsburg, Va., as well as the York County School Board Student Service Award and the Grafton Leader Scholar & Most-Outstanding Student Award. At the club level, he finished his career with the Richmond United Development Academy. He also had stints with Lionsbridge FC and Virginia Legacy Soccer Club. While with Virginia Legacy, Hoffmann helped his team compete in the State-Cup final four for four straight years from 2016-19. In 2015 and 2016, he guided his team to a Club Champions League (CCL) Championship. The Virginia native was selected to the CCL United All-Star Team in 2017 and 2018. He served as a team captain and started in every game for the all-star squad that competed in the Gothia Cup in Sweden during both seasons.
Colman Kim | Midfielder | 5-10 | Shelton, Conn.
Colman comes to Army West Point following a one-year stint on the soccer team at Fairfield University. The Shelton, Conn., native made an immediate impact by starting in all 17 matches as a freshman for the Stags. He was only one of three players on the 2019 squad to start in every match en route to being named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team. His first collegiate point came when he assisted on the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory against the Black Knights last season. At the club level, Colman played for New York City FC Development Academy where he helped guide his team to a 2019 USSDA National Championship. He additionally captained the 2017-18 team that won the Generation Adidas Cup Championship. Colman consistently trained with the NYC FC first team and went to 2020 preseason camp with the club for two months.
Sean Lee | Forward | 6-1 | Herndon, Va.
Lee arrives on the banks of the Hudson following his time on the boys soccer team at Westfield High School in Virginia. The 6-1 striker was named first team all-district and second team all-region as a senior. At the club level, he played for Loudoun Soccer Club, while also previously competing for FC Virginia.
Sal Rasizzi | Forward | 5-9 | Queens, N.Y.
Rasizzi experienced tremendous success at the club level as a member of New York City FC Development Academy. He became the all-time leader in goals scored while with the club. The New York native helped lead his team to a USSDA National Championship in 2019. He additionally played a major role in helping his team claim a GA Cup Championship in 2017. Rasizzi has experience training with Inter Milan and competing at the U.S. U-14 National Team training camp.
Alec Schwartzman | Defender/Midfielder | 5-9 | Mamaroneck, N.Y.
Schwartzman, a native of Mamaroneck, N.Y., made the trip across the Hudson River to arrive at West Point. He played his club soccer for NYSC, compiling three goals in 24 matches during the 2018-19 season.
Hamza Shehata | Defender | 5-10 | Harrison, N.J.
Shehata attended South Brunswick High School in New Jersey where he was a center back on the boys soccer team. He additionally competed in track & field in the 400m and 800m. He was the GMC champion as a freshman and sophomore year in the 800m. At South Brunswick, he was a member of the Model UN and Peer Assistive Leadership (P.A.L.) program. At the club level, Shehata played for the New York Red Bulls Developmental Academy. In 2018, he received the golden boot for the most goals scored in a season. Shehata also has experience playing for a Salzburg squad that placed third in the Europe Next Generation Cup in 2017. He additionally competed in the Generation Adidas Cup.
Atef Sikazwe | Midfielder | 5-10 | Novi, Mich.
Sikazwe arrives at West Point from Novi, Mich., where he played for Novi High School. He most recently played his club soccer for the Michigan Wolves. This past season, he appeared in 14 games while starting in seven. In 2019, he was the leading scorer for the Wolves after scoring 14 goals in 22 appearances.
