Army Falls to Bucknell in Patriot League Quarterfinal

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The sharp shooting of Bucknell was too much for the Army West Point women's basketball team Monday evening in Sojka Pavilion. The top-seeded Bison (24-6) shot at 58.1 percent clip from the field to top the Black Knights (9-22), 87-61, in the Patriot League Quarterfinal.
Army had a trio of players finish with double-digits in scoring led by Alisa Fallon, who poured in a game-high 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the floor. Also scoring in double-figures was Alisa Fallon (12 points) and Hope Brown (11).
The Bison had four different members reach double digits in scoring: Taylor O'Brien (17 points), Tessa Brugler (15), Abby Kapp (14) and Ellie Mack (10). Mack also corralled 10 rebounds to pick up the double-double.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Cadets closed out the season winning four of their last seven games.
- Army hit at least eight 3-balls in eight of its last nine contests.

- Murray posted her eighth double-digit scoring effort of the season.
- Brown had her 11th game scoring in double digits.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bucknell opened the contest taking the 9-0 lead and forcing the Cadets to burn its first timeout with 8:03 left in the first. Fallon eventually ended the run with a turnaround jumper.
- Army used a 5-0 run to cut Bucknell's lead to 18-10 with 3:35 left. Though, the Bison closed out the first quarter on a 9-2 run to hold the 29-14 lead.
- Bucknell took its largest lead of the first half after Mack knocked down a jumper with 5:16 remaining in the second to make the score 40-19.
- Behind 19-of-31 shooting from the field, the Bison held the 46-29 at the break. For Army, Murray and Fallon were bright spots as each reached the 10-point marker before the end of the half.
- Murray was 5-of-9 from the field and 2-of-3 from 3-point range for a total of 12 points. Fallon had 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting.
- The Bison opened the second half on a 7-0 run to push ahead 53-29 just under two-and-a-half minutes into the third.
- Bucknell used an early run in the second build its lead back up to 20-plus points, which it would for the remainder of the contest.
