Three Cadets Named CEP Athletes of the Month

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Junior Mitchell McHugh of Army West Point gymnastics, senior Anant Mundra of men's tennis and sophomore Caroline Vincent of women's tennis were named the Corps Squad Scholar Athletes of the Month for February.

- McHugh has been on the Dean's List every semester so far, maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.56 as a Systems Engineering major.
- He has earned the Superintendent's Award for Achievement and was recently a team member of the 2019 American Society of Engineering Management Case Study Championships in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.
- He competed in every event so far this season and has risen to become an inspirational leader and key motivator for both the gymnastics team and his company, I-3, where he completed the IOTC in an impressive 2:26.
- He scored a career-high 13.75 on the floor at this year's West Point Open and is a College Gymnastics Association First Team Academic All-American.
Anant Mundra

- Mundra excelled in the classroom for his entire cadet career after compiling a 3.609 cumulative GPA and an academic coursework GPA of 3.648 as an Economics major.
- He has earned the Distinguished Cadet Award, which is awarded to cadets who earn a 3.67 for two successive semesters.
- Mundra has been nominated for membership in Pi Mu Epsilon, which is a Mathematics Honor Society.
- He has earned all these accomplishments while also embracing an Applied Statistics minor, in addition to his primary major.
- Mundra is a team captain for the men's tennis team this year.
- He ended last season on 7-0 winning streak. Most notably, he won his match against Navy in the Patriot League championship, which evened the finals at 3-3.
- His victory against the Midshipmen was crucial in extending the match. He has accumulated a 35-19 record in singles over the past three years.
- The senior has been selected for the Patriot League Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll for the past two seasons. He also was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete in that period.
- He currently is the Executive Officer of his company, I-2.
Caroline Vincent

- Vincent carries a cumulative GPA of 3.885 as an Engineering Management major.
- She has been on the Dean's List all three semesters that she has been at the Academy.
- She has a Military Program cumulative score of 3.3.
- Vincent was also recognized on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in the fall of 2017 and 2018.
- She has compiled an 8-2 record in doubles during the fall season. That included winning the doubles championship at the Loyola Greyhound Classic Tournament and advancing to the semifinals in the West Point Invitational Tournament.
- They have continued to amass victories with an impressive 7-1 record in team match play for the spring season.
- In singles, she has built a similarly impressive record, playing primarily at the second and third positions.
- She has a 9-6 singles record for the combined fall and spring seasons, most recently earning a hard-fought three set comeback victory over her UMass opponent.
- Vincent qualified for the ITA Regionals in both singles and doubles and advanced to the round of 16 in doubles.
