Brown Takes Home Patriot League Rookie of the Week Award

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Hope Brown of the Army West Point women's basketball team was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

The Phillipsburg, N.J., native posted a pair of double-digit scoring efforts to help lead the Cadets to victories over Loyola and Navy last week.

Against the Greyhounds on Wednesday, Brown registered 16 points which was tied for the team's lead, shooting 6-of-10 from the field and 4-of-5 from the charity stripe. On Saturday opposite service academy foe Navy, she had a game-high 18 points with 15 coming in the second half. Â She shot 6-of-10 from the field in Army's Star Series win over the Mids.

This marks Brown's second rookie of the week honor, as she previous took home the award on Dec. 9 after posting 20 points against LIU.

Army returns to action on Wednesday when it takes on Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., at 7 p.m.
