Berkovitz Named AHA Defensive Player of the Week

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Due to his outstanding performance in Army's weekend sweep at Mercyhurst, Matt Berkovitz has been named the Atlantic Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week.

The Black Knights defeated the Lakers on the road by scores of 4-1 and 5-1, respectively. Berkovitz had a career night on Friday with three assists, while adding another on Saturday.

The Green Bay, Wisc., native had two blocks and finished plus-3 on the weekend.

Berkovitz and the rest of the Black Knights return to Tate Rink for the next two weeks. Army hosts Sacred Heart this Friday and Saturday before taking on AIC on Feb. 29. All games will be played at 7:05 p.m.
