CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Sophomore Evan Zhang and senior Serica Hallstead of the Army West Point swimming and diving teams both received Patriot League weekly honors on Tuesday afternoon.
Zhang, who earned his second weekly award from the league this season, played a key role in the Black Knights', 220-79, road dual win against Bucknell on Saturday. He won a pair of individual events in the 100 breast (55.14) and 200 IM (1:52.22). The Flushing, N.Y., native also helped the 200 medley relay team place first after he swam the second leg.
For the women, Hallstead was the lone cadet to claim a pair of individual event victories after she swept the diving events against Bucknell. The Canandaigua, N.Y., native bested the competition on the 3-meter with a score of 285.45 and also took the top spot on the 1-meter with a total of 276.75.
Army returns to action on Thursday when several cadets trek to Knoxville, Tenn., for the four-day TYR Pro Series.
