BALTIMORE – The Army West Point men's soccer team fell to Loyola, 4-0, in its Patriot League opener on Saturday afternoon.

The Black Knights (2-2-1, 0-1 Patriot League) and the Greyhounds (2-4-0, 1-0 Patriot League) combined for 28 shots in the contest, but it was Loyola coming away with the home win.

The Loyola goalkeeper, Chase Vosvick, was able to keep Army off the board by sending away all five of the Black Knights' shots placed on goal.

ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES

Justin Stoll made three saves in between the pipes.
Christian Takaki led the team with four shots.
Three of the junior's four shots were placed on goal.
The Black Knights logged double-digit shots for the fourth time in a match this season.
It was the eighth all-time meeting between Army and Loyola.
Melic Belong made his collegiate debut.
Chris DeBruyne and Morgan Hebard appeared in a match for the first time this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Greyhounds jumped out to an early advantage and it started with two quick goals in the opening 10 minutes of play. The first came when Justin Ingram scored on a penalty kick after the Black Knights committed a foul inside the box in the eighth minute.
Just over a minute later, Barry Sharifi sent a pass to Brian Saramago and he scored his first of the afternoon.
It remained a two-goal game up until the 80th minute when Saramago was led in from the left side and scored.
The Greyhounds pushed their lead to four, 4-0, following Saramago's third goal of the game after he headed a ball into the back of the net in the 81st minute.
