McGraw Named Preseason Second Team All-American
August 14, 2019 | Men's Soccer
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Standout senior Zac McGraw, who was recently named the Patriot League Preseason Defensive Player of the Year for the third consecutive season, received College Soccer News All-America Second Team honors.
McGraw, who was also named to the Mac Hermann Trophy watch list earlier this month, has been one of the top defenders in the Patriot League during his time at Army. In his junior campaign, he captained a Black Knights' defense that shutout back-to-back opponents in the league tournament, marking the first time in program history an Army squad had accomplished that feat. His defensive efforts against top-seeded Loyola in the semifinal round helped the cadets advance to the championship match for the first time since 1996.
The Torrance, Calif., native and the Black Knights will lace up for their season opener on Aug. 31 when they take on service academy rival No. 19 Air Force at 7 p.m. at Malek Stadium at Clinton Field.
