Davis Competes In NCAA All-Around Finals

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – After qualifying as an individual in the all-around category, Army West Point freshman Mathew Davis competed in the finals of the NCAA Championships on Saturday.
Davis posted an all-around score of 76.698 which placed him 14th overall in the category. The freshman's top event of the night was floor exercise. He ranked 28th among the nation's best.
Davis started his day on the parallel bars where he recorded a score of 11.833. The freshman then moved over to the high bar, posting a 12.300 score. He then posted his best score of the day, recording a 13.833 on floor. On pommel horse, Davis turned out a 11.933. Next were the still rings, where the freshman produced a 13.233 mark. Davis closed out his first NCAA Championship performance on vault where he posted a score of 13.566.
It was the second consecutive year a Black Knight qualified for the NCAA Championship finals in all-around.
