Davis Earns AAA Athlete of the Week Nod

WEST POINT, N.Y. -Â Freshman all-arounder Mathew Davis was tabbed the Army West Point Athletic Association Athlete of the Week after his outstanding performance at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships.Â
The Frisco, Texas, native ranked second in the meet with a 79.050 score. He championed the floor exercise with a career-high 14.400. Davis was also the first-place finisher on parallel bars, turning out a 13.150.Â
Davis was honored as the ECAC Rookie of the Year on Saturday.Â
The Black Knights qualified for the NCAA Championships as a team for the first time since 2015. Davis and the Cadets will compete at the University of Illinois April 19-20.Â
