Hovren Earns MBWA Weekly Honors for Third Time

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Senior forward Madison Hovren was named the player of the week by the Met Basketball Writers Association for the third time this season.
Hovren produced a pair of double-doubles in averaging 21 points and 13.5 rebounds during a 1-1 week for the Black Knights, who beat Holy Cross 60-53 at home and then lost at Lehigh 55-46.
In the game against Lehigh, she passed Erin Anthony for second all-time in career rebounds and has 1,033 boards after 15 on Saturday against the Mountain Hawks. She leads the Patriot League in both scoring and rebounding heading into a midweek tilt at Colgate. She is averaging 18.2 points per game and 12.9 rebounds per contests through 26 games.
Hovren and the Black Knights travel to Colgate on Wednesday for a late evening tipoff that will have postseason seeding implications. The start is slated for 8:30 p.m. on the Patriot League Network at PatriotLeague.tv.
