Cassalia Picks up All-Region Recognition

WEST POINT, N.Y. - For the second year in a row, Sydney Cassalia was recognized nationally with a nod to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's All-Region Team.

Cassalia had yet another stellar season in net for the Black Knights posting six shutouts, a 0.91 goals against average and 0.776 save percentage, while also notching an assist.

The junior goalkeeper led Army to a five-game unbeaten streak at the end of the year to boost the Black Knights from as low as seventh in the standings to the third seed. In league-only games, the junior posted three shutouts, a 0.846 save percentage and 0.63 goals against average.

She has recorded 22-career shutouts to rank tied for second all-time in Army's record books and tied for eighth in the Patriot League.

Cassalia was named the Patriot League Goalie of the Year and an Academic All-Patriot League Team member. Last season, the junior captain was named first team All-Region.
