Black Knights Drop Match to Nebraska
November 09, 2019 | Rifle
LINCOLN, Neb. – The Army West Point rifle team fell on the road Saturday to Nebraska, 4677-4639, in their final match of the fall.
"We had a rough time today," said head coach Web Wright. "The score we put up is definitely not indicative of our potential."
Clayton Hanson had the third highest aggregate score on the day with a mark of 1171, which was 10 points off the leader Elena Flake and six behind second-place Emily Cheramie.
"Nick shot well today," said Wright about sophomore Nicholas Cheshire, who posted a personal best in air rifle with 583. "He was our most improved last year and has been gradually improving throughout the season. That was probably the high point of this trip."
AGGREGATE: Nebraska 4677, Army 4639
AIR RIFLE: Nebraska 2319, Army 2300
SMALLBORE: Nebraska 2358, Army 2339
