Army Outlasted by Unbeaten TCU

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's basketball team cut TCU's lead to three in the early stages of the fourth quarter, but the unbeaten Horned Frogs pulled away to take this one, 52-66.

Alisa Fallon registered her first-career double-double, as the sophomore finished the contest with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Des Plaines, Ill., native shot 5-of-11 from field. Sabria Hunter also finished with 13 points, nine of which came in the second half.

The Horned Frogs had four players finish with double-figures, led by Jayde Woods who had a game-high 14 points. Woods shot 50 percent from the field, connecting on five of her 10 field goal attempts.

ARMY NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS
- This contest marked the first time since Dec. 10, 2009 that Army welcomed a Power Five opponent to Christl Arena. In that game Army fell to No. 16 Oklahoma, 59-46.
- Sarah Bohn tied her career high with three treys, marking the third time this season, and the ninth time of her career, that she's connected on three shots from beyond-the-arc.
- Bohn also dished out a game-high four assists, tying her season high which she set in the opener against William & Mary.
- Fallon has now reached double-digit scoring four consecutive contests. During the span she's averaged 12.5 points and 34.3 minutes.
- Hunter has put up double-figures in four of her first six career games.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The contest started out neck-and-neck with TCU grasping the slight, 17-15, lead after one quarter of play. Fallon was already up top seven points at the 10-minute mark.
- The Horned Frogs started to distance themselves in the second quarter opening on a 12-0 scoring run, but the Black Knights fought their way back to make the score 32-26 at halftime.
- In the entire first half, Army was limited to a 28.6 percent shooting clip, but five of its made shots came from 3-point range.
- The Cadets found their groove coming out of the halftime break, shooting 63.6 percent (7-of-11) from the field in the third quarter. Hunter shot 3-of-4 in the frame and the Black Knights found themselves trailing by just seven entering the final quarter of play.
- With just over eight minutes remaining, Army had whittled TCU's lead to 49-46, but the Horned Frogs outscored the Cadets 17-6 for the remainder of the contest.
