HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
- Momentum shifted between the two sides through the first 45 minutes with Colgate maintaining a 7-3 edge in shots.
- Army's best chance of the half came when the ball deflected back to senior Kayleigh Stallings whose shot from 30-yards out rose above the crossbar.
- The Black Knights went on the offensive to begin the second half, generating a chance in the 51st minute when Sarah Chamberlin fed a pass up to Stallings who dropped it for Rosenberger. The rookie from St. Louis, Mo., fired a shot from just outside the box that ricocheted off a Colgate defender and out of harm's way.
- Sophomore Morgan Walsh provided the home side with the best scoring opportunity by either side 10 minutes later when she headed an Erynn Johns cross past the Raiders' goalkeeper but clanged off the crossbar to keep the home side off the board.
- Both Army and Colgate managed to record a shot in the first extra time period, although neither team was able to hit the target.
- The Black Knights clawed their way to a good look in the 97th minute when Chamberlin lobbed a ball forward down the right side for rookie Trinity Garay who sent a cross into the box, but Colgate's back line was able to send the ball out of danger.
- The visitors added two more shots in the final overtime period, including one on goal, but were unable to crack Cassalia and the Black Knights.
