THE OPENING KICKOFF
• Army is coming off a thrilling 28-21 victory over previously undefeated Hawai'i last Saturday.
• That win handed the Cadets their ninth-straight home victory, which is the longest home winning streak since winning 14 in a row from the 1984 season to the 1986 season.
• The Black Knights have also been solid away from West Point, winning six of their last 10 road contests, dropping two of those games to No. 8 Ohio State in 2017 and a currently undefeated Duke team this season.
• Army's running game has gotten back on track the last two games after struggling in its opener at Duke back on Aug. 31. Over the last two contests, the Black Knights are averaging 376.0 rushing yards and have scored eight of their nine touchdowns via the ground game.
• Junior quarterback Kelvin Hopkins Jr. is currently leading the Cadets with 206 rushing yards, including a 110-yard performance during Army's last outing against Hawai'i.
• Following closely behind is senior captain Darnell Woolfolk, who has posted 188 yards and is tied with Hopkins for a team-high three rushing touchdowns.
• After giving the ball away twice in their opener, the Cadets have tightened things up and have not turned the ball over in back-to-back weekends. In the last three years the Black Knights are undefeated (9-0) when they don't lose the football. Over Coach Jeff Monken's tenture (five years), Army is 10-4 in that situation.
• The Black Knights' veteran defense came up clutch in key situations against the high-powered offfense of the Rainbow Warriors last Saturday. Army held Hawai'i, who was averaging 48 points a game, to just 21 points and only seven in the second half. Another highlight from the game was the Cadets limited Hawai'i to 362 total yards after the Rainbow Warriors came in averaging 540 yards per outing.
• After leading the nation in rushing just a year ago, the Black Knights are back in the Top-10 in that category after averaging 306.7 yards (6th nationally) over their last three games.
ARMY-OKLAHOMA HISTORY
• This will be the fourth all-time meeting between Army and Oklahoma.
• The Sooners own a 2-1 record over the Black Knights, including a 14-8 victory in the teams' last outing on Nov. 18, 1961. That contest was played at Yankee Stadium.
• These two teams have no common opponents during the 2018 season.
ABOUT THE SOONERS
• Oklahoma is currently No. 5 in the AP poll and will be back at home for the third time in the last four games when Saturday's contest kicks off.
• The Sooners most recently posted a strong 37-27 victory at Iowa State during their last outing, marking their 17thstraight true road win.
• Oklahoma is averaging 49.7 points per game compared to just 20.7 for its opponents.
• During the game opposite the Cyclones, redshirt junior Kyler Murray threw for a career-high 348 yards and three touchdowns.
• He is also a threat via the ground game and leads the team in rushing this season with 169 yards on the year.
• Junior wide out Marquise Brown also had an impressive game for the Sooners against Iowa State, notching 191 yards on nine catches.
• Brown currently leads the nation with 10 receptions of at least 50 yards since the start of last season, and also ranks fifth nationally in receiving yards per game at 137.3 this season.
• The defense is led by redshirt senior Curtis Bolton, who has compiled 23 total tackles and 3.0 tackles for a loss of 11 yards so far on the year. Kenneth Murray and Mark Jackson follow closely with 19 and 18 tackles, respectively, while Murray has also added 4.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks.
RUSHING ATTACK
• Last season the Black Knights led FBS in rushing for the first time since 2012 as they ran for 362.3 yards per game.
• This season they are doing much of the same, despite losing their leading rusher Ahmad Bradshaw to graduation.
• Just a year ago he set the single-season rushing record with 1,746 yards, including 265 yards against serviceacademy rival Air Force in a 21-0 victory last November.
• Army does however have its entire fullback corps returning with Darnell Woolfolk and Andy Davidson leading the way. Woolfolk was second on the team in rushing in 2017 and had 14 rushing touchdowns, while Davidson was the team leader in touchdowns in 2016 with 12.
• The Black Knights have also relied on junior Connor Slomka and senior Calen Holt, who rushed for 216 and 214 yards just a year ago, respectively.
• In Army's opening three games of 2018, three of those four cadet-athletes are leading the Black Knights' rushing game. Woolfolk is second on the team with 188 yards and three touchdowns, while Slomka and Holt have compiled 153 and 150 yards, respectively.
