Freshman Alex DiMarco Records Hat-Trick

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army women's rugby team looked stellar Saturday night at the Anderson Rugby Complex, as the Black Knights took down West Chester 69-0 in their home opener.

Freshman Alex DiMarco stole the show versus the Golden Rams (0-2). The rookie had a hat-trick with three tries on the night to pace the cadets. Sam Sullivan was right behind with two tries of her own.

Army (1-1) set the tempo out the gate, as Sullivan got the scoring started in the 3rd minute to get the ball rolling. Five more tries in the first half secured a 38-0 halftime lead. The Black Knights kept it going in the second half, with five more tries, coupled with lock-down defense to secure the shutout.

Army wins its home opener for back-to-back years, after taking down American International 76-20 to open up the 2017-18 home slate.
The Black Knights move to 5-0 all time in varsity play vs. West Chester.
Freshman Alex DiMarco recorded her first every try in her hat-trick effort.
Sam Sullivan, Mel Rigoni, Nicole Wantlin, Damaria Morton and Charisma Henry each scored their first try of the season.
