Army West Point Athletics
On Point: Love, Nikiay Comer
September 13, 2018 | Women's Soccer
On Point highlights the tremendous personal stories our coaches and cadet-athletes have to share on a weekly basis. Each week, a new feature story will be prominently highlighted on GoArmyWestPoint.com. The features will include multi-media pieces and written pieces by the Army West Point athletic communications staff.
West Point allows cadets the opportunity to make plenty of unique connections that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. For Army West Point women's soccer senior Nikiay Comer, that unexpected bond was forged with the students at the 186th Street School in Gardena, Calif., after she traveled out to the school with the Academy's Center for Leadership and Diversity in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). The strong connection she formed evolved into Comer becoming pen pals with 50 of the students from the school who she remains in contact with to this day.
