Army Drops Close Match to Navy in Star Series

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Army West Point men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to Navy on Saturday afternoon at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Freshman Dylan Simonsen and sophomore Myles Conlin clinched the doubles point for Army, with a 6-4 victory over Gabriel Pilones and Greg Durham. Conlin earned his second victory of the day in singles against Durham, with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-8 win.

The Black Knights dropped the first three matches in singles, but saw Conlin and Michael Sienko even the match at 3-3 with wins at the third and fifth spots. That setup a duel at the top spot in the lineup, however Andrew Ton of Navy won the third set against Nguyen to give Navy the 4-3 win.
