WEST POINT, N.Y. – Senior Monica Sowinski of the Army West Point women's swimming and diving team received the Lt. Gen. Harold "Hal" Moore Warrior Athlete of Excellence Award on Wednesday.

"We are all very proud of Monica," head coach Mickey Wender said. "She has worked incredibly hard in every phase of her Cadet life. She's a leader in the corps, in the classroom and in the pool. She continues to impress me every day with her commitment to excellence and being the best she can be."
Sowinski and the Black Knights will be in action this Friday when they take on LIU Brooklyn for a non-league dual slated for 5 p.m. at Crandall Pool.
