THE OPENING KICKOFF
• The Black Knights extended their winning streak to five consecutive games and 11 straight at Michie Staidum when they defeated service-academy rival Air Force last Saturday.
• That win assured that the Cadets would retain the Commander In Chief's Trophy for another season, marking the first time in program history Army would house the 170-plus pound trophy in back-to-back years.
• Since the start of the 2017 season, the Cadets have won 17 of their last 22 games for a .773 winning percentage and are 17-3 over the last two seasons when kicking off prior to 7 p.m. Eastern with a 7-0 mark in 2018.
• During its game against the Falcons, Army put up an impressive opening drive of 21 plays and over 10 minutes of possession time. Both of those marks were season highs.
• Since their opener, the Cadets' running game has averaged 323.9 rushing yards and has scored 28 of their 33 offensive touchdowns during that time via the ground game.
• After leading the nation in rushing just a year ago, the Black Knights are back in the Top-5 in that category after averaging 306.6 yards (second nationally) over their last nine contests.
• Kelvin Hopkins Jr. and Darnell Woolfolk are leading the team with 671 and 665 yards rushing, respectively. Woolfolk its tops on the team with nine scores, while Hopkins Jr. has picked up eight TDs via the run.
• During its last outing, Army saw Woolfolk break free for a career-long 52-yard run in the second quarter which set up a touchdown score by Hopkins.
• That run put the senior over the 2,000-career rushing mark; he currently sits with 32 career scores, which has him sixth all-time in the Black Knights' records book.
• The Black Knights' defense has been stellar in stopping the run game. So far this season, Army has held four opponents to under 100 yards rushing, including three of its last four opponents (San Jose State, Miami (OH), and Eastern Michigan).
• The Army defense has also been one of the nation's best when it comes to defending on third down situations. The Cadets are currently sixth in the nation in that category, allowing only 24 conversions in 87 attempts (.276 percent).
• In the last three years the Black Knights are undefeated (13-0) when they don't lose the football. Over Coach Jeff Monken's tenure (five years), Army is 14-4 in that situation.
ARMY-LAFAYETTE HISTORY
• This will be the 20th all-time meeting between these two schools.
• The Black Knights currently lead the series 18-1 and have won 17-straight over the Leopards.
• The lone Lafayette victory came during the 1940 season when it took down Army on the road 19-0.
• In their last meeting on Oct. 15, 2016, the Cadets registered a 62-7 win thanks in part to a three-touchdown performance by Chris Carter, two throwing and one rushing.
• Nine different cadet-athletes scored in that contest with the Black Knights racking up an impressive 21 points in the second quarter alone.
• The strong Army defense allowed just 10 rushing yards during that game but the Leopards passing offense compiled 213 yards on 23 completions.
• Andrew King and Kenneth Brinson led the defense with five and four total tackles, respectively. Both registered a sack in the game as well.
• The Black Knights and Leopards have one common opponent during the 2018 season in Colgate. Lafayette dropped a 45-0 decision on the road to the Raiders, while the Cadets host Colgate next weekend.

• Lafayette sits with an overall record of 3-6 with wins over Central Connecticut, Bucknell and Fordham.
• Most recently the Leopards dropped a 40-14 decision to Holy Cross, which dipped their Patriot League mark to 2-3.
• Lafayette is averaging 14.1 points per game but is giving up nearly double that at 28.7 per contest.
• Two Leopards are averaging more than 300 yards rushing on the year in C.J. Amill and Selwyn Simpson. Amill has compiled 336 yards and a team-high four touchdowns, while Simpson has 304 yards and three scores.
• Sophomore Sean O'Malley is Lafayette's main play caller and for the year is 158-of-283 for 1,503 yards and three touchdowns.
• His main targets have been Nick Pearson and Quinn Revere. Pearson has registered 547 receiving yards, while Revere has accumulated 281 yards.
• In Lafayette's most recent outing against Holy Cross, the Leopards jumped out to the early 14-0 advantage in the first period. Unfortunately, the Crusaders recorded 40 unanswered points to steal the win.
