HOW IT HAPPENED
- Army and Binghamton struggled from the start to get into a rhythm offensively, but the Bearcats went on a 10-0 run to go ahead 17-13 and force the Cadets to call timeout with 8:01 left in the half. Binghamton knocked down 4-of-5 shots from the field over that span.
- The offensive from both sides did not pick up in the closing minutes of the stanza, but Army went on a 6-2 run to trim the deficit to one, 24-23, before the halftime buzzer sounded.
- The Black Knights carried some momentum into the second half and back-to-back scores by Funk and Fox sparked a 19-3 run to help Army go ahead 44-32. The backcourt duo was responsible for 12 points during the stretch that the Cadets shot 8-for-12 from the floor.
- The two sides began to trade baskets, but a brief 7-1 spurt by the Bearcats brought the deficit within five, 50-45, with 7:05 left to play. Army wasted no time bringing its lead back to double-digits after Tucker Blackwell checked into the game and knocked down a timely 3-pointer before Wilson scored from inside off a dish by Funk.
- The Cadets held strong in the closing minutes of the contest and went on to secure the 67-56 non-conference home victory.
