2018 Academic All-District® Football TeamsÂ
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Seniors Kenneth Brinson and Andy Davidson were recognized for their work on the field and in the classroom as they were both named to the 2018 CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District® First Team.
The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. The ballots are voted on by the sports information directors from around the nation.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
Â
The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed in links provided above and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
Brinson was named First-team Academic All-District® for the second straight year and was a First Team Academic All-America® selection in 2017. Brinson has been recognized all season for his academic success as he is a finalist for both the Campbell Trophy and the Pop Warner National College Football Award. He is a chemical engineering major with a 3.9 grade point average at West Point.
Davidson earned a spot on the First-team Academic All-District® for the first time in his college career. Davidson is one of only two running backs on the squad and is an engineering management major with a 3.54 GPA at West Point. He has played a huge role in Army success over the past three seasons and has played in 48 career games and has 1,805 career rushing yards and 19 touchdowns.
The Black Knights are back out on the field Saturday as Army hosts Colgate on Senior Day at Michie Stadium. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
