WEST POINT, N.Y. – The No. 12 Army West Point rifle team outscored Akron for the fourth consecutive year at Palmyra.

Coach's Quotes
"It felt good to get a win," said head coach Web Wright. "Kaitlyn [Kutz] and Clayton [Hanson] had good smallbore performances. Air rifle was fair across the board."
Â
"We need to turn in some better scores in the coming weeks. We have the Navy star match, the NCAA qualifier and conference championships coming up. The score we turned in today will not get us very far in those remaining matches. But a think a little more refinement, and we can be where we need to be, score-wise. "
Â
"We will have a short week of training then will get on the bus to Navy on Friday. Historically, we have come together as a team for the star match. I know we have what it takes for a victory next week. We need to find the zone and perform to our optimal level."
AGGREGATE (4643)
SMALLBOREÂ (2311)
AIR RIFLE (2339)
UP NEXT:
The Black Knights will head to Annapolis, Md., on Feb.3 to challenge service-academy rival Navy in the annual star match.Â
