Army Earns Runner-Up Finish at Brown Tournament

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Army West Point women's rugby team posted its second runner-up finish in as many weeks after a 4-1 showing at the Brown 7s Tournament Sunday.

The Black Knights improved to 7-2 on the spring in 7s play.

Army opened the tournament with a 42-0 shutout over Norwich before blanking Dartmouth, 48-0. That success continued against Harvard in the form of a 26-10 victory. The Cadets then documented their third shutout of the day with a 45-0 win over Brown.

The championship match once again pitted the Black Knights against Quinnipiac, with the Bobcats capturing a 27-5 win. Last week at the AIC Tournament, Quinnipiac won, 25-5.

Zye Crittington led the Black Knights with seven tries on the day.
Rookie Bayleigh Gable eclipsed 50 points for the second straight tournament with four tries and 15 conversions.
