Marsden Named NCO Coach of the Year

DOVER, Del. – Army West Point volunteer assistant wrestling coach Austin Marsden has been named Coach of the Year by the 2017 National Collegiate Open presented by X-Athletic.
Marsden, a four-time NCAA Qualifier, three-time Big 12 champion and two-time NCAA All-American at heavyweight for Oklahoma State, worked primarily with the heavyweights throughout the 2016-17 season for the Black Knights.
At the National Collegiate Open, Marsden coached two Cadet-athletes to individual championships in Lucas Weiland (157 lbs.) and Noah Stewart (174 lbs.), while Nigel Ruiz and Cael McCormick garnered All-American honors at the tournament. Ruiz was fourth at 157 pounds, while McCormick placed sixth at 165 pounds.
The Black Knights return to action on Friday and Saturday at the EIWA Championships in Lewisburg, Pa.
