HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Joseph's Brooklyn hung with the Black Knights for the opening 3:30 of the game, but a 14-2 Army run made it a 14-point game, 23-9. Despite four unanswered points by the Bears, Army would expand its lead once again, this time by closing out the quarter on a 14-3 run. In the first, Army shot 63 percent from the field and 8-of-10 from the charity stripe.
- With a commanding lead already, Army pulled away and went ahead by 36, 57-21, after a 20-5 run that spanned the first 6:14 of the second frame. The Black Knights buried three shots from deep during that stretch, including a pair from Morris.
- Army's 30-point advantage pushed to 40 after a 19-5 run. The Bears' top scorer, Victoria Porcasi, was responsible for all five of her team's points during that span.
- Following a three-point play by Hovren with 1:46 left to play in the third quarter, Army led by 52, 87-35.
- With the game already out of reach, the Cadets outscored the Bears 18-5 for over nine minutes of action in the final quarter and claimed their seventh win of the season.
UP NEXT
- The Black Knights will have some time off for the holidays before returning to West Point to kick start Patriot League play on Dec. 29 at Christl Arena against Boston U. at 3 p.m.
