USCHO.COM POLL
WEST POINT, N.Y. – After sweeping No. 19 Air Force on the road, the Army West Point hockey team has received 17 votes in this week's USCHO.com National Poll along with a nod in the USA Today / USA Hockey Magazine National Poll.
Â
The Black Knights took down service academy rival Air Force this past weekend to mark their first road sweep of the Falcons since 2003. Saturday's game was the first time Air Force has been shutout at home since 2014 against Denver, and the first time at home by the Black Knights since 2007.
Â
Army's 5-1-0 record on the road is the best in college hockey. Last weekend, the Black Knights fought off Air Force in all six penalty kills for a total of 12 minutes. The Black Knights were successful on their own power play going 3-for-5 on the weekend.
Â
The Black Knights continue their time on the road with a weekend series at Niagara Friday and Saturday. Army was the only team in the Atlantic Hockey Association to earn all four points last weekend which catapulted the team back to first in the standings with 10 points.
