Army Wrestlers Remain Ranked During Off Week

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Three cadet-athletes from the Army West Point wrestling team found themselves ranked after the bye week leading into the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational this weekend.
Sophomores Ben Harvey (174 lbs.) and Lucas Weiland (157 lbs.) were ranked in TrackWrestling's poll at 13th and 25th, respectively. Harvey held steady in the InterMat (17th) and FloWrestling (18th) rankings, while junior Rocco Caywood remained 19th according to The Open Mat at 197 pounds.
Harvey sports an overall record of 5-3 with a major decision. The New Palestine, Ind., native is coming off a 2-1 showing at the Journeyman Classic which resulted in a third-place finish.
Caywood's 9-4 mark is tied for the best record on the team, including four bonus point wins on a technical fall and three major decisions. The Toledo, Ohio, native has won five of his last seven matches that has resulted in an individual title at the Journeyman Classic and a fourth-place showing at the Black Knight Invite.
Weiland currently sits at 7-4 on the season with three bonus point victories on a fall and two major decisions. The Barnhart, Mo., native is 5-1 in his last six matches, placing second at the Journeyman Classic and first at the Black Knight Invite. That stretch started with a 10-0 major decision over then-18th Casey Sparkman of Kent State for his first-career win over a ranked opponent.
The Black Knights return to action this weekend at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
