ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- The Purple Eagles broke Army's three-game winning streak with tonight's win. They also snapped Army's five-game winning streak in the series.
- With the weekend split, the Black Knights remain in first in Atlantic Hockey standings 12-11 over Niagara.
- Cole Bruns had multiple one-on-one saves in the game and totaled 26 stops on the night.
- Zach Evancho and Michael Wilson both scored for the second night in a row.
- Conor Andrle, Tyler Pham, Dalton MacAfee and Nick DeCenzo were credited with assists.
- Pham has now notched a point in all, but one of Army's games this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
PERIOD ONE (1-0 NIAGARA)

- The first frame was highlighted by defensive play as the Black Knights led 1-0 in shots halfway through.
- Things picked up in the last 10:00 minutes of play however when Taylor Maruya stole the puck in Niagara's zone and attempted a wraparound shot.
- Army and Niagara were knotted at 0-0 at the end of the frame and were also tied up 6-6 in shots.
PERIOD TWO (2-1 NIAGARA)
- Niagara opened the period with a goal 1:32 into play. Johnny Curran gained the deflection to the off-side of Army's net.
- The Black Knights answered 31 seconds later when Andrle took a hard shot which was saved and Evancho trailed to bury the rebound.
- Niagara's Eric Cooley went on a breakaway moments later, but Bruns came up with a big save.
- The Purple Eagles scored shortside top shelf with 11:18 on the clock to go ahead 2-1.
PERIOD THREE (3-2 NIAGARA)
- The Purple Eagles scored a much needed insurance goal with 12:05 remaining in the game when Tanner Lomsnes pulled the puck for a wraparound finding a gap in Bruns' stick side.
- Army went on back-to-back power plays and scored just into the second when Pham moved the puck across to MacAfee who shot from the circle. Wilson picked up the rebound and went high over Brain Wilson to score with 7:23 on the clock.
- The Black Knights had multiple chances within the final two minutes of the game when they pulled the goalie, but B. Wilson was able to make key saves to preserve the victory.
UP NEXT
- Army hosts Holy Cross next Friday and Saturday at Tate Rink. Both contests will begin at 7:05 p.m.
