Army Falls to Bucknell on the Road

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Army West Point women's soccer team was unable to overcome an early three-goal deficit on the road, dropping a 3-0 decision at Bucknell on Saturday afternoon.
The Black Knights dropped to 3-9-1 on the season and 1-4-0 in Patriot League play, while the Bison improved to 8-6-0 overall and 5-0-0 in the league.
The reigning league champions came out firing, scoring in the first 10 minutes of the match on a goal from Brianna Kropinack. The Bison added to their lead in the 14th and 23rd minutes when Kendall Ham, the 2016 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, scored twice.
Neither side was able to muster up much offense after that with a combined eight of 20 shots being on target. Sarah Chamberlin fired Army's first shot that tested the Bucknell goalkeeper in the 44th minute, while Madison McGinn forced Dani Kaufman to make another save in the 50th minute.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bucknell opened the scoring at 9:43 on a set piece off a corner kick. Cassalia punched out the original service, but Brianna Kropinack hit a volley from just inside the box to give the Bison a 1-0 lead.
- Kendall Ham scored Bucknell's second goal of the game at the 13:03 mark when she sent a shot into the top left corner from just outside of the box.
- Ham netted her second goal of the match at 22:03 from inside the six-yard box to give the Bison a 3-0 advantage.
UP NEXT
- The Black Knights return home next Saturday for the annual Army-Navy match. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Shea Stadium.
