Hopkins Jr. Named Athlete of the Week

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Sophomore quarterback Kelvin Hopkins Jr. was selected as the Army West Point Athletic Association's Athlete of the Week after leading Army on a game-tying scoring drive late in the game against Temple.Â
In his first lengthy time on the field in his career, Hopkins marched the Black Knights 79 yards in 14 plays to tie the Owls with one second remaining in the 31-28 overtime victory against Temple. Hopkins connected with senior Jermaine Adams in the corner of the end zone in the final second to complete the comeback.Â
Hopkins was 5-of-11 on the drive threw the air, but finished the drive by completing five of his last eight passes and spotted Adams for his first collegiate touchdown pass. He had a long pass of 21 yards during the drive with a nice toss to Kell Walker to setup a pair of passes to Adams to get in the end zone.Â
Hopkins, a native of Charlotte, also ran for 11 yards early in the drive to keep the chains moving after failing to complete a pass.Â
The Black Knights became bowl eligible with the win on Saturday and have accepted a bid into the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl on Dec. 23 in Fort Worth, Texas.Â
Fans can purchase tickets at different price levels and locations.
Army is once again announcing the Donate to a Cadet program where fans can donate tickets for cadets to attend the game and those tickets are set at $60.
The tickets for the game range from $125 to $30. The club seats are set at $125 and the availability of those tickets will be based on giving level. Midfield seats are set at $75, while outer sideline spots are $60. Fans can also purchase upper deck end zone seats at $50 and end zone general admission are $30.
There are a many ways to purchase tickets. Fans can visit ArmyGameday.com/armedforcesbowl , call 1-877-TIX-ARMY or stop by the Army Ticket Office located at Gate 3 of Michie Stadium. Fans can also purchase tickets and request club seats through the Army A Club at 845-938-2322.
