FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's tennis team took on St. John's on the prestigious grounds at Flushing Meadows Saturday night, battling the 52nd-ranked Red Storm to a 4-1 loss. The Black Knights fall to 5-6 this year while St. John's is now 13-4.

"We played some great doubles and fought hard against a very good team," said Army head coach Jim Poling.

Army took the point in doubles after victories from the likes of Grant Riechmann and Harrison McCormick and Kyle Barnes and Austin McCasin in the top two doubles flights. Each pairing won by a score of 6-4.

St. John's then took four of the singles matches to clinch the meet. The closest battle for the Cadets was the sixth singles position where McCasin lost 6-3, 6-4 to Dusan Vukicevic.

The Black Knights return home for a doubleheader against Stony Brook and Siena on Sunday, March 6.
