Madison Hovren Lands Weekly Honors

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Sophomore forward Madison Hovren was selected as Patriot League Player of the Week for the first time in her career on Monday. Hovren was also named the Army Athletic Association's Athlete of the Week for the first time.
Hovren averaged a double-double with 19.0 points per game and 11.0 rebounds per game in a pair of Army wins last week. The Black Knights defeated Air Force, 75-47, on Nov. 23 before earning a 68-60 road win at Dartmouth on Nov. 26.
A native of Spokane, Wash., Hovren matched career highs of 22 points and nine rebounds in the win over Air Force and posted her first double-double, with 16 points and a new career-best 13 boards in the Dartmouth game. She finished the week 17-of-33 (.515 percent) from the floor, while also averaging three steals per outing.
Hovren leads the Patriot League with 19.6 points per game this season and ranks second in the conference with 8.6 rebounds per contest.
Army (4-1 overall) kicks off a three-game homestand with a matchup against Fairleigh Dickinson tonight at 7 p.m.
