COACHES COMMENTS
"I really thought we had to have a perfect race today to get in the top ten and we came up just a bit short with our 12th place finish. Our program has only finished better than 12th one time (11th in 2014) since 2005 so we are making progress, it just takes time."
"Individually Valeri was very strong again. He has had a breakthrough this year and that continued today. he was controlled early in the race and then moved up very well. He is just starting to figure out how to race at the higher levels and I think we will continue to see good things from him. Our 3-4-5 (Santoyo, Keegan Smith and Ben Petrella) are all freshman. They all gave great effort today and I am proud of the way they competed. There is a lot to look forward to with these young guys and the others that we have coming back next year."
