Army Hosts Yale in Home Opener

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's swimming and diving team hosts Yale in a dual meet for its home opener on Friday at 5 p.m. Part of the diving portion of the meet will begin at 4 p.m.

COACHES CORNER
Our expectation is that we will race hard and represent the team and academy with class," stated head coach Mickey Wender. "This home opener is a great opportunity for us to see where we are with our depth."

We'll have chances to see a lot of people swim, and will make changes to the lineup accordingly.

We have a lot of home meets this year, and we have a several idiosyncrasies to Crandall Pool that we think gives us a home field advantage.

LAST TIME OUT
The Black Knights opened their season last Friday with a 188-110 win on the road at UMass.

Army took first in the 200-yd medley relay as the team of Josh Sembrano, Joseph Daniels, Johnny Ellery and Evin Rude finished with a time of 1:32.72.
Â
Tom Ottman claimed the top spot in the 1000-yd freestyle with a mark of 9:39.48. Kevin Doo took second in the race, finishing in 9:46.02.

Evin Rude and Devin McCall took first and second in the 200-yd freestyle with times of 1:41.56 and 1:42.74 respectively.
