Knicks to Hold Training Camp at West Point

WEST POINT, N.Y. – For the second consecutive year and the fifth time in franchise history, the New York Knickerbockers of the National Basketball Association will hold their training camp at West Point from Sept. 29 through Oct. 3.
The Knicks will use Christl Arena, the home of the Army men's and women's basketball programs, for their practices throughout the week. They will also train in the O'Meara, Malek, Dawkins, Class of 1959 Strength Development Center inside Kimsey Athletic Center. Practice sessions will be closed to the public.
Last year, then first-year head coach Derek Fisher and team President Phil Jackson brought the Knicks back to West Point for training camp for the first time since 1967.
The Knicks roster underwent an overhaul since last year's camp, with at least eight new faces joining the team for 2015-16. Rookie first-round draft picks Kristaps Porzingis and Jerian Grant, as well as free agent signings Robin Lopez and Arron Afflalo are among the newcomers. They join all-star small forward Carmelo Anthony and Middletown, N.Y., native Cleyanthony Early, who were part of last season's team.
Although practice sessions will be closed to the public, the team will have an opportunity to interact with the Corps of Cadets at during the week.
