LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell scored in each of the first four innings en route to a 14-1 victory over the Army baseball team in game one of Sunday's twinbill at Depew Field. The Black Knights' lone run came on a first-inning RBI single by Mark McCants.
Bucknell won its third straight against Army and improved to 4-7 in the Patriot League with the win. Army fell to 3-8 in the conference.
In all, Bucknell (18-15) recorded 16 base hits and scored 10 runs off Army (15-17) starting pitcher Jeremy Mortensen. Joe Ogren and Jon Mayer each went 4-for-4 for the Bison, as Ogren drove in seven runs to lead the Bucknell offense.
Bucknell starting pitcher Andrew Andreychik went the distance and allowed one run on two hits, while striking out eight. Army's two base hits came in the first inning on a leadoff double by Jon Rosoff, followed by McCants' two-bagger later in the inning. Andreychick (3-4) stranded McCants at second with a strikeout and did not allow another baserunner until Ben Smith reached on an error in the seventh.
