WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army men’s and women’s swimming and diving team finished out their home competition of the season with a split decision versus Patriot League rival Bucknell on Saturday afternoon. The men defeated Bucknell 195-105, while the Bison women captured five of the final seven events to hold off Army 157.5-142.5.
For the second straight day, sophomore Chris Szekely and freshman Ariana Bullard led the way for the Black Knights having a hand in three and four wins, respectively.
“It was a good day for our team,” said Army head coach Mickey Wender. “We went up against a very solid Bucknell team for the men and it was the strongest showing we put up for the Bucknell women. I think our team performed very well, learned a lot and is focused on what matters most in terms of the conference championship. I thought our young team really performed well in the great environment. I really appreciate our seniors in our final home meet of the year with a combination of 15 men and women, swimmers, divers and managers. I can’t say enough good things about what they have done for the program and the strong legacy they have left behind. Today was about honoring them. I am excited about what we have in store.”
