A Game of Honor Wins Best Sports Documentary

NEW YORK, N.Y. - A Game of Honor, the Showtime and CBS Sports produced special, won the Sports Emmy Award for best documentary, Monday night at the 33 rd Annual Sports Emmy Awards ceremony at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.
Awards were presented in 33 categories Monday night and Army was involved in two other accolades when The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences honored the best in sports television.
A Game of Honor, the 120-minute show that featured inside access to both Army and Navy, took home the coveted Outstanding Sports Documentary honor edging out Catching Hell, McEnroe/Borg: Fire & Ice; Runnin’ Rebels of UNLV; The Marinovich Project and Unguarded.
A Game of Honor was also presented with an Emmy for New Approaches to Sports Programming as well as Outstanding Sports Promotional Announcement, an award shared with NBC and its 2011 Stanley Cup Finals promotion, No Words.
Army received a total of eight nominations. In addition to winning Outstanding Sports Documentary, New Approaches to Sports Programming and Outstanding Sports Promotional Announcement, A Game of Honor was nominated for Outstanding Camera Work and Outstanding Editing. The Army-Navy Game was also nominated for three awards, Outstanding Open/Tease, Outstanding Music Composition/Direction/Lyrics and Opening Post Produced Audio/Sound. In addition, CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson was nominated for Outstanding Sports Personality, Sports Reporter.
