Army Adds GameTracker Mobile, Text Alerts, Droid Application Features

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army Athletic Association, in conjunction with CBS Interactive, added a trio of new mobile features that make following your favorite Black Knights teams on-the-go as easy as a download. Army unveiled a GameTracker Mobile application for live statistics, a free text alerts system and a free Android application.
GAMETRACKER MOBILE
The GameTracker Mobile application offers college sports fans across the world the opportunity to follow their favorite Army teams from their BlackBerry and Android smartphones. Army's GameTracker Mobile app is a free, interactive application that can be downloaded from BlackBerry App WorldTM(http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/vendor/3640) or the Android Marketplace (http://www.android.com/market).
GameTracker Mobile is a customized version of CBSSports.com College Network's GameTracker and will provide fans the most comprehensive mobile statistical coverage of all Army sports that run live statistics. The GameTracker Mobile app is customized with headlines, scores, schedules and rosters direct from www.goARMYsports.com.
The initial launch of Army's GameTracker Mobile will include access to the following features:
Headlines -Breaking news, by sport, available exclusively from www.goARMYsports.com
Scores and Statistics -Updated scores, statistics, play-by-play details and results from past events
Schedules -Complete schedules for each sport by date, time, location and opponent
Social Media -Share content from GameTracker Mobile via email or Twitter
FREE MOBILE TEXT ALERTS
Free text alerts are available by visiting www.goARMYsports.com and clicking on the Mobile Text Alerts link under the Multimedia tab. The service allows the user to customize what sports and what type of updates the fan would like to receive direct to their mobile device.
ADROID APPLICATION
Army's official Droid app is available now to Android users across the globe and features instant access to up-to-the-minute news, scores, live game play-by-play, stats, schedules, rosters and photo galleries for 2011-12. The new mobile application is a free download from the Android Market.
The application provides Android owners an interface that gives them immediate mobile access to essential information from www.goARMYsports.com. Fans no longer have to wait until they have access to a computer or television to keep up with their favorite Army sports.
The free version of the mobile application will include access to the following features:
Headlines
Live game scoring from GameTracker (subject to GameTracker availability) -Previous game and next game schedules and scores, live scoring updates, play-by-play coverage, player and team stats, box scores
On-demand video (subject to video availability)
Schedules and scores
Rosters
Photo galleries
In-app alert system
Sharing via email and Facebook -Future versions will include Twitter sharing
Once downloaded, fans can purchase the live audio upgrade for $4.99 per year within the application by clicking "Purchase Sports Audio" and following the purchase process. Once the upgrade is purchased, fans can immediately access audio broadcasts through the "Audio/Video" or "Games" tab. Audio broadcasts are subject to availability of online and mobile broadcast rights.
The Android app is compatible with any Droid device running Android 2.2 or above. It can be downloaded on your phone via the Android Market by searching for "Army Athletics." Please be sure to locate the app marked "official."
