ITT Knight Vision To Carry Black Knight Awards Free

WEST POINT, N.Y. – ITT Knight Vision will carry the Army Athletic Association’s 2011 Black Knight Awards live on Sunday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m. Families, fans and others not able to attend the awards, which celebrate and highlight the 2010-11 season in Army Athletics, will have the opportunity to watch online via a free live webcast.

Rich DeMarco, Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing, Multi-Media and Broadcasting, will serve as the night’s emcee. In its fourth year of existence, the Black Knight Awards follow an ESPY Awards model and will highlight the best Army Athletics has had to offer this season.
All 25 of Army’s athletic teams, coaches and staff are invited to attend the event, which will be held at West Point's Robinson Auditorium, located in Thayer Hall, for a third year in a row. A light reception will precede the formal award show, which will run no later than 9 p.m.
The Black Knight Awards will honor All-Americans, scholar-athletes and league champions and several awards will be presented to cadet-athletes. Among the categories are men’s and women’s Team of the Year, Firstie of the Year, Cow of the Year, Yearling of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Performance of the Year. In addition, the Army A Club Award will be distributed, as will the Maggie Dixon Inspiration Award, Gene Uchacz Memorial Award and the Community Service Award.
