September 04, 2010 | General
COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland announced earlier today that Kevin Anderson has been named the university's new Director of Athletics. Anderson had served as the head of the Army Athletic Association since Dec. 13, 2004.
In his five years at West Point, Anderson Anderson was responsible for a 25-sport program that served more than 900 cadet-athletes.
"We'd like to thank Kevin Anderson for his efforts in advancing the intercollegiate athletic program at West Point these past five years," West Point Superintendent Lt. Gen. David Huntoon said. "His support of West Point's mission and his work with our cadet-athletes has been exemplary. While we will miss his strong leadership, we wish Kevin, his wife Moira and their children nothing but the best as they begin a new chapter in their lives."
