WEST POINT, N.Y. – ITT Knight Vision, the expanded multi-media arm of the Army Athletic Association, will broadcast Friday’s Army Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet, live from Eisenhower Hall, free of charge. The webstream is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
Senior Executive Associate Athletic Director Bob Beretta and Rich DeMarco, the voice of the Black Knights, will serve as hosts as Army honors the Class of 2010.
This year marks the seventh class to be enshrined into the Army Sports Hall of Fame and ITT Knight Vision will take viewers inside the event. Eight individuals are being honored this weekend with events that include introduction at the football game Saturday against North Texas, an unveiling ceremony Friday and the “black-tie” dinner.
The Class of 2010 includes three Army Athletic Association Award winners, two national champions, an Academic All-American and multiple All-Americans.
West Point’s seventh induction class consists of Jon Aaronsohn (gymnastics), Clennie Brundidge (football and basketball), Mike McElrath (football), Al Rushatz (football and wrestling) Melody Smith (basketball and tennis), Teresa Sobiesk (cross country and track and field), Gen. Joseph Stilwell (basketball player and coach) and Pete Vann (football).
The Class of 2010 represents athletes from eight different sports and one coach who also starred as a player.
CBS College Sports Network personality Dave Ryan will serve as the master of ceremonies. ITT Knight Vision will carry the opening remarks from Superintendent Lt. Gen. David Huntoon, video highlights, plaque presentations, the class acceptance speech from McElrath as well as interviews with the inductees.
The Army Sports Hall of Fame is a subset of the Kenna Hall of Army Sports, a comprehensive museum displaying Army’s rich and proud intercollegiate athletic program. It is located on the third floor of the Kimsey Athletic Center, Army’s massive football training facility that opened five years ago.
