ANAHEIM, Calif. – For the second straight year, the Army Athletic Association has been honored by the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA).
Assistant Athletic Director Rich DeMarco accepted two honors at the organization's 19th annual convention on Wednesday afternoon. Army won a first-place honor in "Best Video Segment" for the 2009 football team's stadium entrance video and took third place in "Best Student Promotion" for Army basketball Regiment Nights and the Cadet Rewards Program.
Awards were presented in 13 categories, with each divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations to promote fairness. A total of 700 entries were received for the 2009-10 year, according to NACMA.
The two awards bring Army's total number of citations to five in the last two years. The Army Athletic Association has totaled three first-place finishes, a second-place honor and a third-place certificate.
NACMA, the first organization to provide educational and network opportunities, enhancement of acceptable operating standards and ethics and establishment of the overall prestige and understanding of the profession of athletics marketing administrators, is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), which is in his 45th year.
