Why did you decide to come to West Point? What were some of the deciding factors? Who or what influenced your decision?
I didn't want to go to the local state university like 95% of my graduating class did. I wanted to be different.
What does it mean to you to be able to play softball at West Point?
It means that I can do what I love and enjoy the most while still working towards something that will carry on after college, whereas softball most likely will not. It means I can look forward to the future without giving up opportunities of the present.
What is the best thing about being an athlete at West Point?
Having something to look forward to at the end of the day. Having something I know I can be very good at if I put in the work. Knowing nothing else can influence the outcome of it except for me.
What is the most difficult thing?
Lack of time, which inevitably leads to lack of sleep and/or lack of motivation. Especially in season when we don't get back sometimes until 9 at night and then have multiple assignments or military duties to attend to.
What is your fondest memory at West Point?
-In sports?
Receiving Offensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year for Army Softball last year.
-Outside of sports?
Not being a plebe anymore.
What adjustments have you had to make since arriving here?
-Socially
Learning to socialize less.
-Athletically
Realizing that it's impossible to practice every day here.
-Academically
Learning how to study.
What do you enjoy doing during your "down time"?
Reading. Working out. EATING!
What is your major and what is the most interesting thing you've learned here?
Spanish and Arabic.
Which branch are you planning on entering following graduation?
What I want to branch and what my class rank will allow me to branch are two different things.
What is the best thing about being a cadet at West Point?
Knowing that graduating from here will be a great and rewarding accomplishment.
