Army West Point Athletics

Wednesday, Feb. 10 - Code Red?
February 10, 2010 | General
Good morning loyal Black Knights reader and welcome to a snowy West Point. Don’t let the Code Red fool you, some of us are in the office today.
Ryan Yanoshak with you this a.m. The Coach and I trudged in a bit ago because despite the snow, the show goes on. Army is hosting Holy Cross tonight in a men’s basketball game, the Coach has a softball guide on deadline and the hockey team is home this weekend so after caffeine stop, we arrived safely.
For our local readers, if you can walk to Christl Arena tonight, admission is free for the men’s basketball game. Catch up on the men’s basketball squad by reading Gun Boat’s game notes here.
Hard to believe it but the spring sports are very close to their respective first days of competition.
It is winter though so that means hockey and wrestling.
The wrestling squad is home this weekend for the final time with a tri-match with Sacred Heart and Millersville on Saturday. Prior to the 6 p.m. match, head coach Chuck Barbee will honor the members of the senior class, an impressive group that has racked up quite the accomplishments. Keep an eye out for my match preview but wrestling begins at 2 p.m. at Gillis Field House.
The hockey team is also home this weekend, hosting RIT is a key series. The Tigers are atop the conference standings while the Black Knights are in sixth. My game notes, which look at the series, suggest ways to follow the game, explain the playoffs and much more will be up early tomorrow morning.
A brief post this morning I know. Figure since I got through the snow to work, I my as well do some.
Have a great day, lift with your legs and enjoy the Code Red.
